Advent Christian Voices is dedicated to fostering dialogue among Advent Christians on issues of church and theology.

A Brief History

In the 19th and 20th centuries, Advent Christians were known for promoting vigorous dialogue through the use of tracts, magazines, and journals like the World's Crisis, The Advent Christian Witness, and Henceforth. Unfortunately, the printed medium has not persisted as reliable means of hosting dialogue in the 21st century. A general societal shift toward digital formats for exchanging ideas points to the need for new medium for Advent Christian dialogue. In early months of 2017, Tom Loghry endeavored to meet this need by creating a blog for Advent Christians — Advent Christian Voices, inaugurated by his first post, It’s Time to Talk.

Advent Christian Voices welcomes all Advent Christians to the table. While the editorial team reserves the right to refuse submissions that do not speak to issues of church and theology, that are needlessly repetitive, or that are slanderous and obscene, we intend to otherwise permit the submissions of all perspectives that want to join the conversation. While we will typically only accept submissions from Advent Christians, we will occasionally accept the submissions of those outside of the denomination who are interested. Advent Christian Voices exists to encourage dialogue and will not employ any theological or philosophical grid through which one must pass to contribute. When disagreements arise, we would encourage constructive interactions in the comments section of articles and the submission of response articles.  Looking to that old Reformation adage, we expect that the rule and goal of all our interactions would be to maintain "in essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity."
