Conditionalism in Jeremiah
We at Piney Grove Advent Christian Church in Delco, North Carolina, have committed to reading through the Bible, two chapters a day. We began on January 1, 2025, in Genesis. As the new year begins, we are now finishing Isaiah and beginning Jeremiah.
Wherever we look, we find evidence for our conditionalist beliefs in the word of God. The doctrines of conditionalism are revealed even in these ancient books of the Old Testament.
Here is a precise list of those doctrines:
· The exclusive Immortality of God: God is immortal, and no other being currently possesses that attribute.
· The Potential Immortality of humanity: Human beings are capable of becoming immortal through faith in Jesus Christ.
· The unconscious Intermediate State: All who have died are currently unconscious in a state described as sleep and will be awakened by a resurrection.
· The final judgment of the lost will result in their permanent destruction.
· The resurrection of the saved will result in their possessing permanent life.
