"Is Our Denomination Dying?"

Thom Rainer recently published a new episode on his weekly podcast Revitalize & Replant that caught my attention. For those unfamiliar, Dr. Rainer is the President of LifeWay Resources, the publishing arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. Rainer is well respected across denominational lines and is regarded as one of the most well respected church leaders in the areas of research and church leadership.

I enjoy listening to this podcast regularly and in this episode Dr. Rainer and Jonathan Howe discuss the causes of decline in the Southern Baptist Convention. As you listen, I think you’ll notice that their issues likely mirror our own within the Advent Christian Denomination.

My hope is that we can have loving conversations that are at the same time honest and forthright. If there has ever be a time for us to have these hard conversations, it is NOW.
